Jeu de Boules - From mid-June 2025
Fun, games, and southern French flair in the open air
Welcome to a new leisure attraction in our hotel garden: two 15-meter-long Jeu de Boules courts invite you to play, relax, and enjoy yourself—ideal for groups of up to 12 people.
The classic game of boules, also known as pétanque, is a sociable game for young and old alike. Whether with family, friends, or colleagues, playing together ensures relaxed, happy moments.
We provide suitable balls in various sizes – for both adults and children.
Instructions – How to play Jeu de Boules
1. Throw the target ball
- At the start of the game, a small target ball – the “cochonnet” (French for “piglet”) – is thrown.
- The distance from the throwing point should be between 6 and 10 meters.
2. Form teams
- Two teams compete against each other.
- The following variations are possible:
- Singles (1 against 1): 3 balls per person
- Doubles (2 against 2): 3 balls per person
- Triples (3 against 3): 2 balls per person
3. Throw the balls
- The aim is to throw your own balls as close as possible to the cochonnet.
- A clever tactic is to knock your opponent's balls away.
4. Count the points
- Once all balls have been played, the team receives points:
- 1 point per ball that is closer to the jack than the nearest opposing ball.
- The game is usually played until 13 points are reached.
Our tip for groups
The jeu de boules courts are perfect for small events, birthday parties, team building or simply a convivial afternoon in the countryside.
